Why you can trust Horizons' data

Here is the methodology we use to construct and maintain our statistical database.

We don’t just say that you can be certain about our data, we have put it up for independent evaluation. Click here for a copy of the report.

We also work closely with industry bodies. For example, in conjunction with the IGD we produced the first-ever definitive statement of the size of the combined foodservice plus retail market for food and beverages. Click here to download the results.

We regularly work with the British Hospitality Association; each year we jointly produce a report on the size of the hospitality, leisure and tourism market.

The Out of Home Group of The Food and Drink Federation feature Horizons on their website because we provide the information that their members appreciate and find helpful.

Arena

We support Arena - the hospitality network - because it helps us, and the rest of the industry, to work together more closely. Peter Backman, Managing Director of Horizons, was a founder and Chairman of Arena.

British Frozen Food Federation

We work with the British Frozen Food Federation because the federation represents the interests of manufacturers, processors and distributors of frozen and chilled food. Together, these sectors represent a significant contributor to the foodservice sector's shopping basket accounting for 35% of caterers' total food purchases in 2007.

British Hospitality Association

The BHA is the association for operators across all sectors of the industry - from restaurants and hotels to contract caterers. The BHA publishes regular reports - such as The Food and Service Management Survey and British Hospitality: Trends and Statistics - to which we are proud to contribute information and insight.

FDF Out of Home

The Out of Home Group of the FDF represents food and drink manufacturers with a significant involvement in the foodservice sector. We are pleased that the Out of Home Group have asked us to provide regularly updated data - and comment - for their website.

Hale Group

The Hale Group is our international advisory food sector partner based in Boston, USA. The Hale Group has a similar philosophy to our own and, in particular, develops fact-based strategies for its clients, translates information and makes it relevant to them. The Hale Group provides proven operational processes that are ultimately geared to implementing targeted growth strategies.

Hospitality Action

For those people who work - or who have worked - in the hospitality sector and who require help, Hospitality Action is an important port of call. We do whatever we can to support the work of HA.

Springboard

Springboard brings young people into the hospitality and tourism industries - to provide career prospects for the young people that it helps and to assist the industry in meeting its needs for motivated and conscientious new recruits. We support Springboard, as much as we are able, in this vitally important task.
